Purpose with a Plan
I know it might sound wacky because young people don’t think about purpose, right? After all, that fuzzy stuff is for grown-up not for kids trying to be kids. It’s hard enough picking out what to wear, who to hangs with and how to stay popular. Purpose can wait… or so you think. It’s never too early to begin considering…. What you are purposed to do in life. This might sound a little crazy but I want to tell you something that you most know: YOU CAN NOT LIVE, UNTIL YOU KNOW WHY YOU WERE BORN.
Know in order for you to believe that last line we have to dispel a few myths. I too once believed that as long as I can breathe, but what the statement doesn’t say is that for every dream you have, there is a termination date on its possibility; every second that you breathe is a subtle reminder that time is soon to expire.
Now that I have your attention, please know that moment between each breathe you take is another opportunity presented to live in purpose… what will you do with it because for every dream you have there is a sacrificed attached to it. I know you may want to have fun and be a kid and that is cool but life will be so much better as an adult if you began preparing now for it.
I get it and am somewhat jealous, for you are in a beautiful position as a youth. You have more time in front of you than you do behind you and that makes you feel invincible but as someone who once stood where you stand I must warn you that the distance between you and I is not far nor is the time it takes to get from one side to the other . Yes I agree with you: Life is a journey but a successful journey is one with a destination in mind. I don’t want the fuzzy stuff at your age to become frustration stuff when you become an adult.
Lebron James, Serena William, Drake, Taylor Shift, nor did Tom Brady wake up one day and dominated their dream and neither will you. They knew when they were young, some as young as 6 years old, what they wanted to do and dedicated themselves to defining their destiny. Like them, you too will have to define your life by having purpose with a plan.
